Equities Rise as Oil Prices Dip Amid US-Iran Talks
Global equities rose on Wednesday, while oil prices dipped as investors weighed lower demand forecasts and U.S. data showed only a slight rise in inflation.
The data, released on Wednesday, showed that U.S. consumer prices increased 0.1% in July, in line with expectations.
Robert Pavlik, senior portfolio manager at Dakota Wealth, said the data 'relieves some of the concerns that the Fed is being pushed toward a rate hike due to inflation.'
The Federal Reserve's decision on whether to raise interest rates next month has been uncertain, and the data dented rate hike bets.
Gold prices rose more than 1% as investors anticipated lower interest rates.
