Erdogan Condemns Black Sea Attacks as Turkey Seeks Lasting Peace
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy to discuss attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea, which he called 'inexplicable.'
Erdogan emphasized that steps must be taken to stop these attacks and ensure navigational safety in the region.
He stated that Turkey is ready to do all it can for a lasting peace in Ukraine-Russia conflict and will continue efforts to revive direct negotiations between the two sides.
The meeting comes as global wheat prices have soared due to difficulties securing supplies from the Black Sea region, which is crucial for top wheat importers in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
