Estonia Blocks Russian Grain Transit Amid Baltic Port Security Concerns
Estonia has joined its Baltic neighbors in blocking Russian and Belarusian grain from transiting through their territory. The decision is aimed at preventing the use of Baltic ports as alternative export routes for Russia, following Ukraine's ports being attacked by Moscow.
According to Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, Estonia will not provide a route for Russia's grain exports. In September, Tsahkna mentioned that transit of Russian grain through Estonia was already 'practically nonexistent.'
The decision is part of a broader effort by the Baltic states to work together in preventing their ports from being used as an alternative export route for Russia.
