COCERAL has significantly reduced its forecast for EU and UK corn production in 2026 to 48.6 million tons, down from a previous estimate of 52.7 million tons in July.

The sharp decrease is attributed to the hot and dry conditions during corn pollination across key growing areas in Western and Central Europe, as well as a reduction in planted area.

COCERAL also lowered its forecast for soft wheat production to 137.5 million tons from 140.8 million tons in July and 148.7 million tons last year.
