EU Energy Imports Show Value-Volume Divergence in Q2 2026
The European Union's imports of petroleum oil saw a significant increase in value during the second quarter of 2026, rising by 55.8 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
However, the volume of petroleum oil imports remained largely flat, increasing only by 1.2 percent to 36.7 million tonnes.

On the other hand, natural gas imports in gaseous form saw an increase on both measures, with a 18.5 percent rise in value and a 3.4 percent increase in volume.
