EU Wheat Prices Hold Steady Amid Ongoing Conflict in Ukraine and Russia
The European wheat market showed little movement on Tuesday as traders continued to assess the situation in Ukraine and Russia, where ongoing conflict has disrupted Black Sea exports.
Euronext wheat prices remained steady at €243.75 ($278.68) a metric ton for December delivery, unchanged from the previous day's close.
The weaker euro against the dollar contributed to Euronext wheat staying relatively stable, but markets are still digesting headlines about Russia's war with Ukraine and its impact on grain exports.
Futures brokers expressed disappointment that no clear export plan has been announced for the coming months, which is tempering expectations of a shift in demand towards European suppliers.
