European natural gas prices declined for the second consecutive day on Friday to approximately €71.5 per MWh, as investors assessed heightened tensions in the Middle East following a US attack on Iran and retaliatory strikes.

The renewed flare-up has sent European gas prices soaring to their highest level in over three years, despite President Trump indicating that further strikes on Tehran would be limited in duration.

The shipping paralysis in the Gulf continues to hinder LNG supplies to Europe, slowing inventory replenishment and exacerbating low winter gas inventories across the region.
