European Gas Prices Surge Amid Strait of Hormuz Blockade
European natural gas prices have continued their upward trend, reaching above €62 per MWh on Tuesday. The rise in prices is attributed to several factors, including the ongoing maritime blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on LNG shipments from Qatar.
The blockade has delayed these shipments, limiting supplies available to Europe and putting additional pressure on storage levels ahead of the winter heating season.
President Trump's comments that he is in no rush to resolve the conflict and his warning of military action against Oman if it obstructs US efforts to reach an agreement with Iran have also contributed to the uncertainty surrounding the situation.
