European Natural Gas Prices Rise on LNG Supply Concerns and Heat-Driven Demand
The European natural gas market saw prices rise on Monday as concerns over LNG supply disruptions and heat-driven power demand continued to weigh on the market.
According to data from the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), Europe's largest and most liquid gas trading hub, the September contract settled at €61.42 per megawatt-hour (MWh) on Friday.
The contract traded 1.4% higher at €62.26 per MWh as of 0932 GMT Monday, with analysts attributing the gains to ongoing disruptions to Gulf LNG supplies and high temperatures increasing electricity demand for cooling.
