The price of liquefied natural gas (LNG) has skyrocketed to a 45-month high, reaching $26.00 per million Btu for delivery to North Asia in the week ended September 11.

This represents a staggering 150% increase from the February 27 price of $10.40, with spot cargoes for North Asia being assessed at this new record high.

The Henry Hub, the American benchmark, settled at just $2.71 per million Btu on Friday of that same week, highlighting the vast price disparity between US and European markets.
