Exmar Lands Deal to Supply Ivory Coast's First FSRU Unit

Exmar has been awarded a five-year contract to supply the Ivory Coast's first floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), marking its fourth LNG carrier conversion in the past year. The company will convert its barge-based FSRU, Eemshaven LNG, which was built in 2017 and has a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters.

The Eemshaven LNG will be chartered by Dutch gas buyer Gasunie for five years and will be based at Eemshaven in the Netherlands alongside another FSRU, Golar Igloo. The unit's conversion is part of Exmar's expanding role in the global LNG market.

The deal highlights Exmar's expertise in converting LNG carriers into regas units and its growing presence in the Dutch gas market. With this contract, Gasunie will be able to supply regasified LNG to the Ivory Coast for the first time.
