Exmar Signs Decade-Long FSRU Deals for West African LNG Project
Belgian shipping company Exmar has signed multi-year agreements with Côte d'Ivoire Energies (CI-Energies) and Société Nationale d'Opérations Pétrolières de la Côte d'Ivoire (Petroci) to provide a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) at the Port of Abidjan in West Africa.
The 152,000-cubic-meter FSRU will be used to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the international market, with operations expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027. The project is aimed at meeting rising power demand and strengthening energy security in Côte d'Ivoire.
Exmar's agreements with CI-Energies and Petroci will generate annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of around $21.3 million, according to the company.
