EXMAR has secured a 10-year agreement to supply a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for Côte d'Ivoire's LNG import project at Abidjan. The FSRU will enable the country to meet growing electricity demand and supplement domestic gas supplies, reinforcing energy security in the region.

The project highlights continued demand for floating LNG infrastructure, which can be deployed faster and at lower capital cost than permanent onshore LNG import terminals. EXMAR's FLNG concept targets smaller or stranded offshore gas resources that may not support conventional LNG export developments.

Côte d'Ivoire has emerged as one of West Africa's leading natural gas producers, but rapidly growing power demand and periodic supply constraints have prompted the country to pursue LNG imports as a supplemental energy source. The project is intended to help meet rising gas and power demand in Côte d’Ivoire and neighboring countries.
