EXMAR's FSRU Leased to Côte d'Ivoire as Regional Energy Demand Grows

EXMAR, an expert in floating solutions for gas operations, has signed agreements to lease its 152,000 cubic meter Floating Storage & Regasification Unit (FSRU) to Côte d'Ivoire Energies and Société Nationale des Opérations Pétrolières de la Côte d'Ivoire (Petroci). The FSRU will be used for a 10-year period in the Port of Abidjan, generating an estimated $21.3 million in yearly EBITDA.

The project aims to meet increasing demand for gas and power in Côte d'Ivoire, driven by its growing population and economy, as well as mining industry growth. The neighboring countries also expect additional demand for energy. Petroci will source liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the international market through EXMAR's FSRU, which will then be delivered to CI-Energies to produce electricity.

Côte d'Ivoire aims to become a regional energy hub while ensuring reliable domestic electricity supply. This ambitious goal is being driven by CI-ENERGIES, with the support of Petroci and EXMAR. The FSRU represents an important step towards strengthening Côte d'Ivoire's energy security through additional and flexible natural gas sources.
