Expion Energy, Inc., a leader in energy storage solutions and delivery, has made its first foray into the oil and gas sector through an acquisition in Eastern Louisiana. The company paid $3,425,000 in cash for an existing leasehold of approximately 3,000 net acres within the prospect.

The acquired assets include a wellbore, mineral title research covering about 13,000 net acres, and intellectual property developed in connection with the prospect. The Exploration Agreement contemplates drilling and testing a new lateral wellbore no later than February 15, 2027, subject to customary exceptions.

Kevin Sellers, a seasoned industry executive with deep owner-operator experience and sophisticated capital markets expertise, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Expion Energy, Inc. He will lead the company's oil and gas exploration platform expansion, which aims to supply long-term natural gas to growing AI data center demand and U.S. LNG export markets.
