Exxon Raises LNG Sales Forecast Amid Strong Asian Demand
Exxon Mobil Corp has revised its liquefied natural gas sales forecast upwards. The company now expects to sell 50 million tons of LNG annually by 2030, a significant increase from previous projections. This optimistic outlook is based on the assumption that demand for LNG in Asia and other regions will continue to grow robustly despite current market uncertainties.
According to Peter Clarke, senior vice president for LNG at ExxonMobil International Ltd, the company's decision to raise its sales forecast is driven by strong long-term demand growth. This is particularly evident in Asia, where many countries are seeking to diversify their energy sources and reduce their reliance on other fuels.
However, some nations may be rethinking their LNG consumption due to ongoing Middle East conflicts. Nevertheless, Exxon believes that the overall market trend will continue to favor LNG as a clean-burning alternative to traditional fossil fuels.
