ExxonMobil Commits to Mozambican Companies in LNG Project
ExxonMobil is committed to including local companies in the supply chain of its Rovuma LNG project, which is expected to make a final investment decision this year. The company highlighted the importance of developing Mozambican businesses for the success of the project, advocating for greater national participation.
The Rovuma LNG gas project, led by ExxonMobil, has three approved projects in Mozambique's Rovuma Basin, off the coast of Cabo Delgado, considered among the largest in the world. The Coral Sul project, led by Eni, is currently in production, while a second floating liquefied natural gas platform, valued at $7.2 billion, was approved last October and expected to double production to 7 million tons per year starting in 2028.
Governor Valige Tauabo stated that the provincial executive will continue working with partners to build a favorable environment for private sector development, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.
