ExxonMobil Hits Billion- Barrel Mark in Guyana
ExxonMobil has reached a significant milestone in Guyana's oil production. The company announced that it has produced one billion barrels of oil, marking an extraordinary achievement for the nation and the global energy landscape. This milestone represents a decade-long journey that began with a world-class discovery in the Stabroek block in 2010.
The Liza field, discovered by ExxonMobil in 2015, was one of the fastest deepwater development timelines in the industry. Just four years after the initial discovery, oil flowed from the field. Today, Guyana's growth has been remarkable, with four major offshore developments supported by multiple FPSO vessels.
The country's installed capacity now stands at over 900,000 barrels per day, transforming Guyana into a significant energy producer in less than a decade. With additional projects expected to start up soon, including Uaru in late 2026 and Whiptail in 2027, production is set to continue growing.
