ExxonMobil Stands Firm on Middle East Investments Amid Diversification Efforts
ExxonMobil's CEO Darren Woods emphasized the company's commitment to pursuing opportunities in the Middle East, despite diversifying its liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects. The firm is looking to make a final investment decision on its Mozambique LNG project this year and expects to sanction its Papua New Guinea LNG project during the same period.
The company believes that its pipeline of LNG projects will help reduce its reliance on Middle Eastern markets, but Woods stressed that the region remains crucial for global energy markets. ExxonMobil hopes to capitalize on growing demand from regions such as Asia and Europe, where natural gas is becoming an increasingly important component of the energy mix.
