Fake AI Video Sparks White House Backpedal on Kharg Island Attack Claims

The White House was forced to clarify that President Donald Trump's AI-generated video depicting an attack on Iran's Kharg Island is fake. However, both U.S. officials and Iranian oil leadership confirmed that Kharg Island was not targeted and conditions at the petroleum facility remained calm.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that while kinetic strikes remain an option, the U.S. is currently prioritizing economic pressure to sever the Iranian regime's financial lifelines. This effort aims to isolate Iran from global markets and disrupt its oil exports.
