Fertilizer Prices See Slight Declines Across Six Major Nutrients
Retail fertilizer prices have shifted mostly lower for the third week in a row, with six out of eight major nutrients experiencing slight decreases compared to last month. The only two fertilizers that saw minor increases were DAP and MAP.
The average price of potash was $494 per ton during the first full week of September 2026, while urea averaged $658 per ton. 10-34-0 and anhydrous prices also dropped to $717 and $938 respectively. UAN28 and UAN32 saw slight declines in price to $430 and $457 per ton.
The USDA Deputy Agriculture Secretary Stephen Vaden met with farmers from 13 states last week, discussing fertilizer prices and market competition. The Iowa Corn Growers Association expressed concerns that high fertilizer prices are generating billions of dollars in profits for shareholders while farmers face doubled or tripled costs since 2020.
