Fire at Saudi Aramco Refinery Quickly Extinguished, No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out at Aramco's Jazan refinery in southwestern Saudi Arabia on Sunday, but was quickly brought under control by industrial security teams.

The Saudi Energy Ministry said there were no injuries and that firefighters had extinguished the blaze.

The Jazan refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and produces refined products including gasoline and ultra-light sulfur diesel.

This is not the first incident to hit Aramco's facilities in recent months. In July, a Houthi attack damaged the plant's Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) complex and tank farm area, prompting Aramco to shut down the refinery for repairs.
