First Nations-Led Kino Aski LNG Project Aims to Supply Europe with Low-Carbon Energy
Kino Aski LNG is a major Canadian energy project led by First Nations that aims to supply Europe with low-carbon energy.
The project, developed in partnership between Kino Aski Inc. and Marinvest Energy Canada Inc., will establish a reliable and secure energy corridor between North America and Europe.
Constant Awashish, CEO of Kino Aski Inc., stated that the project represents an opportunity for First Nations to be leading economic partners while protecting their lands and values.
The project will deliver up to 15 million tonnes of LNG per year, powered by renewable electricity in Quebec. The natural gas will be sourced from Western Canada and transported to the Port of Baie-Comeau using a combination of existing and new pipeline infrastructure.
