Fischer Urges Colleagues to Pass Farm Bill Before Deadline

Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer is urging her colleagues to pass the farm bill before its September 30 expiration date. The Senate Agriculture Committee previously advanced the legislation with a 12-11 vote, but it still awaits approval from the full Senate.

The last time Congress approved a comprehensive five-year farm bill was in 2018. Senator Fischer believes that passing this legislation will provide stability for farmers and ranchers.

A significant portion of the farm bill includes permanent year-round E-15, which Senator Fischer claims would be a game changer for producers. She argues that it 'would create a consistent, predictable market' by strengthening domestic demand for corn and ethanol.
