Fitzroy Minerals Hits Record Copper Grades at Buen Retiro Project
Fitzroy Minerals has reported record-breaking copper grades at its Buen Retiro project in Chile. The company's latest assay results show that drill hole BRT-DDH095 returned a staggering 1 meter of 21.84% copper, the highest grade recorded to date. This is not an isolated incident, as several other holes have also yielded impressive results, including 105 meters at 0.74% copper and 83 meters at 0.46% copper.
The Buen Retiro project has seen significant drilling activity in recent months, with four rigs currently active on site. Since February 2026, Fitzroy Minerals has completed 92 diamond drill holes totaling 16,376 meters. The company plans to complete an additional 6,000 meters of drilling in 2026.
The copper market is expected to see increased demand due to the widespread construction of new data centers and defense needs in the United States. According to a report from Businessworld, global copper demand is shifting towards strategic sectors such as AI infrastructure, defense, power grids, and clean energy systems.
