Five Robbers Arrested in Greater Noida for Stealing Gold and Silver Worth Lakhs

A gang of five robbers, specializing in targeting jewellery traders, was arrested in Greater Noida after they allegedly stole gold and silver worth a significant amount from a trader. The gang, consisting of Ankur, Amit, Sohit Bansal, Himanshu, and Kamalkant, was apprehended by police in a joint operation involving Beta-2 police station, Special Operations Group, and Ecotech-1 police station.

Kamalkant had spent nearly a week conducting reconnaissance in Delhi's Chandni Chowk, identifying wholesale silver markets and pinpointing traders transporting high-value consignments. The stolen items included 12 kg of silver ornaments, five gold necklaces, two mangalsutras, 29 pendants, 56 women's rings, 34 men's rings, 18 lockets, and 42 pairs of earrings weighing around 635 grams.

The robbery occurred on August 2, when the robbers intercepted a jewellery trader who was transporting ornaments. They allegedly staged a minor collision to force the vehicle to halt and then threatened the occupants with a firearm before snatching the bag of jewellery and escaping. A case has been registered under various sections of the BNS.
