Florida Gas Prices Hold Steady Amid Oil and Futures Uptick
Florida and Georgia gas prices have remained relatively stable over the past week despite an increase in crude oil and gasoline futures, according to AAA. The state average for regular unleaded gasoline in Florida is $3.86 per gallon, which is roughly unchanged from a week earlier.
The national average, on the other hand, edged up slightly from $4.07 to $4.10 per gallon. Crude oil rose during the week to $87.06 per barrel, up from $84.50, while gasoline futures increased to $3.35 per gallon from $3.27.
AAA's Mark Jenkins said that Florida drivers didn't see much movement at the pump last week despite the higher costs of oil and gasoline futures. However, he warned that if wholesale fuel costs remain elevated, drivers could begin seeing more upward pressure on pump prices in the coming days.
