Peshawar's residents are facing sharp price increases for staple food items. A recent survey by Business Recorder found that prices of flour, onion, tomatoes, and other daily use commodities have surged in the retail market.

Traders report that flour prices have increased due to a ban on wheat and flour supply from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The price of a 20-kg flour bag has risen to Rs3,200 against the previous week's rate of Rs2,500 in the retail market.

The price of onion has touched a new peak, reaching Rs200 per kilogramme. Tomatoes remain unchanged at Rs400 per kilogramme. Cooking oil/ghee prices continue their bullish trend.
