France Deploys Military Personnel to Saudi Arabia's Yanbu Port Amid Rising Oil Prices

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that France will deploy military personnel and defense systems to Saudi Arabia's Red Sea port city of Yanbu. The move is aimed at protecting the facility, which is crucial for energy transportation, rather than involving France in conflicts.

The decision comes amid rising crude oil prices due to recent missile attacks on the route used to export Saudi oil through Yanbu, carried out by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis.

Macron emphasized that France has sufficient gas and oil reserves ahead of winter and is working to ensure supplies are not disrupted. He also expressed concerns about a possible US ban on diesel fuel exports, describing it as 'catastrophic' for the world and the US economy.
