Freeport-McMoRan Stock Holds Gains Amid Copper Price Volatility
Freeport-McMoRan Inc., a US-based miner listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has seen its stock maintain recent gains despite fluctuations in copper prices and earnings. The company's Q2 2025 revenue increased by around 9% to approximately $6.77 billion, compared to about $6.21 billion in Q2 2024.
The higher copper sales volumes and firm pricing helped offset cost pressures, with net income attributable to common shareholders reaching roughly $1.02 billion in Q2 2025, versus about $0.93 billion a year earlier.
The company's Grasberg minerals district in Indonesia remains a central driver of its long-term copper and gold volumes, with combined copper and gold sales from the site contributing significantly to quarterly revenue.
