FTSE 100 Ends Week Higher on Miner Strength, Gold Surge
The FTSE 100 ended the week firmly higher on Friday, gaining 68.40 points or 0.6% to reach 10,816.56.
Gold prices surged past $4,550 per ounce as the US dollar continued to slide, with Goldman Sachs warning of significant upside risk and increased volatility in gold prices.
In other news, Georgina Energy's Hussar prospect is set for September drilling, and Metals Exploration PLC's La India gold project remains on schedule for first gold production in December 2026.
