FTSE 100 Falls Amid Oil Price Drop and Energy Sector Woes
The FTSE 100 index fell 0.1% to 10,671.77 on Tuesday afternoon, weighed down by energy shares.
Ithaca Energy, BP, and Shell declined as oil prices eased back, while Centrica dropped after news of a planned state-backed body to invest in the grid.
Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell, warned that this could be the first step towards renationalisation of the energy infrastructure.
However, miners such as Antofagasta and Anglo American rose with copper prices.
Convatec also gained after Bank of America raised its price target to 300p from 295p.
