The FTSE 100 index closed at 10,750.11 on Friday, August 14, 2026, after falling by 22.56 points or 0.21% for the day.
This marks a fifth consecutive session of losses for London's blue-chip index, which had opened at around 10,833.58 and traded as low as 10,723.66 before closing out the week.
The mid-cap FTSE 250, on the other hand, rose by 0.12% to close at 24,867.42, while the AIM All-Share index edged up slightly to 800.92.
The mining sector weighed heavily on the index, with copper prices softening and leading to declines in stocks such as Antofagasta, Glencore, Fresnillo, and Endeavour Mining.
