FTSE 100 Tumbles as Copper Prices Cool
The UK's FTSE 100 index is on track for its first weekly decline since early July, weighed down by falling copper prices.
Copper prices cooled after a recent surge, dragging down miners like Antofagasta and pulling the industrial metals and mining sector towards a sharp weekly drop.
However, not all UK-listed companies are suffering. Software and data stocks such as Sage Group, Experian, and RELX rose by 3.5% to 5.7% following takeover talk.
The split move is typical for the UK market, which leans on global commodity and energy giants.
