Fuel Oil Production Surges 7% in US as September Supply Levels Rise
The US has seen an increase in fuel oil production and supply in September compared to August. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), fuel oil production rose by 7% on average per day in September. The EIA also reports that the volume of fuel oil supplied from US storage tanks increased, reaching 353,000 barrels per day (b/d) so far this month.
This represents a jump from August's supply levels of 277,000 b/d. Total imports have also risen by 43,000 b/d in September. Refineries have produced 23,000 b/d more fuel oil compared to last month.
The increase in production and supply is reflected in the total US fuel oil stocks, which have risen by 69,000 barrels on the month to 22.05 million barrels.
