Fuel Price Shifts: LBM and LNG Premiums Narrow, B30-VLSFO Flips in Rotterdam
Fuel prices in Rotterdam and Singapore have seen significant changes over the past week. In Rotterdam, liquefied biomethane's (LBM) premiums over high-sulfur fuel oil (HSFO) narrowed by $101-103/mt to $233-361/mt depending on engine type. LBM fell by $91-93/mt, while HSFO gained $10/mt.
LBM's discounts to low-sulfur marine gasoil (LSMGO) widened by $26-28/mt to $323-452/mt, and its premiums over biodiesel 100 (B100) narrowed by $94-96/mt to $122-251/mt. B100 edged up by $4/mt.
Liquefied natural gas's (LNG) premiums over VLSFO also narrowed in both ports: Rotterdam ($53-55/mt to $240-364/mt) and Singapore ($52-53/mt to $342-404/mt). LNG fell further than VLSFO at both ports.
Rotterdam's B30-VLSFO flipped from a $32/mt discount to VLSFO to a $2/mt premium. FuelEU Maritime pooling values for LBM slipped by $3/mt for both engine types, holding back part of LBM's fall.
