Fuel Prices in UAE Set to Rise Again in October
Motorists in the UAE may face another price hike at the pump next month as global oil prices remain elevated. The Brent crude price has hovered above $100 a barrel since the start of September, with some volatility due to uncertainty surrounding regional supply routes.
The current trend suggests that October's fuel prices could be influenced by the broader trend through September, rather than a single day's Brent price. With oil spending considerable time at elevated levels this month, the pressure on the next fuel-price review has increased.
UAE retail fuel prices are linked to international market conditions, and a 10-fils-per-litre increase would add Dh6 to a 60-litre fill and Dh8 to an 80-litre fill. If petrol increased by 20 fils, Super 98 could reach Dh4, Special 95 Dh3.89, and E-Plus Dh3.81.
The restart of Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline has provided some relief, allowing crude to reach the Red Sea without passing through the Strait of Hormuz. However, European customers have been told they will not receive oil allocations through this route in October.
