Fuelmakers Rev Up Refineries Amid Global Energy Crunch
US fuelmakers are pushing their refineries to run at an unprecedented pace in response to heightened global demand for diesel, jet fuel, and gasoline.
The Energy Information Administration reported that refineries processed 17.4 million barrels of crude oil daily last week, surpassing the previous wartime high-water mark set in late July.
This rate is also higher than any point since September 2019, reflecting a concerted effort to meet growing energy needs worldwide.
