The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has announced that its oil mill is now available for use by local olive growers. This marks the beginning of the 2026 milling campaign at the Agricultural Experimental Farm of Pozo Negro, as communicated in a recent press release from the Cabildo.

Farmers can request an appointment to utilize the oil mill by calling the phone number 928 87 86 25, where they will be informed about the conditions for delivering their olives and receiving the resulting olive oil. The president of the Cabildo, Lola García, and the island councilor of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing, Enrique Pérez, have praised the work of Fuerteventura's olive growers for consistently producing high-quality majorero products.

The collection of olives is expected to begin in August with manzanilla and arbequina varieties, followed by hojiblanca and picual in September, and concluding with verdial olives between late September and October. García and Pérez expressed hope that this year's campaign will be successful in terms of oil production.
