Futures Fall Across Agricultural Commodities Amidst Livestock Market Gains
On September 30, 2026, markets closed for the day. In agricultural commodities, December corn futures dropped by 20 cents to $5.01 per bushel, while March corn fell by 20 cents to $5.16. Soybean futures also declined, with November down 3 cents at $12.94 and January down 2 cents at $13.10.
Wheat futures were also lower, with December down 17 cents at $6.75 and March down 16 cents at $6.90. However, live cattle futures rose, with October up 170 cents to $218.92 and December up 207 cents to $222.87. Feeder cattle futures also increased, with October up 282 cents to $336.47 and November up 345 cents to $334.35.
The Andersons at Kent Bridge reported that 2026 crop corn was down 21 cents per bushel at $6.46, while 2027 crop corn was down 5 cents per bushel at $6.32. Soybeans were also lower, with 2026 crop soybeans down 4 cents per bushel at $17.08 and 2027 crop soybeans down 4 cents per bushel at $16.25.
Soft white winter wheat was mixed, with The Andersons reporting a decrease of 17 cents per bushel to $8.01 for 2026 crop but an increase of 4 cents per bushel to $8.18 from Underwood Grain. Soft red winter wheat also showed variations in price, with both companies reporting a decrease.
In the livestock market, the U-S CME price rose by $0.09 to $80.99 per hundredweight for dressed weight, and the 100% formula price increased by $0.53 to $207.88 per hundred kilograms.
