G7 Announces Massive Oil Reserve Release Amid Ongoing Global Tensions
The G7 nations have announced plans to release up to 100 million barrels of oil from their strategic reserves, in an effort to combat rising global oil prices.
The decision comes as tensions between the US, Israel, and Iran continue to escalate, threatening global supply chains and contributing to record-high crude oil prices.
According to a statement released after a meeting chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron, the G7 will coordinate the release through the International Energy Agency (IEA) over the next four months.
The announcement is seen as an attempt to stabilize global markets, which have been volatile due to ongoing conflict and supply disruptions.
