G7 Condemns Houthi Attacks, UK Offers Limited Military Support

The G7 nations have condemned Houthi attacks in Yemen and against Saudi Arabia, calling on Iran to end its support of the rebels.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States denounced the continued strikes by the Houthis and urged them to 'immediately cease all military actions'.

The statement also called on Iran to end its support of the rebels, including arming them.

Meanwhile, the UK has agreed to provide limited military support to Saudi Arabia, including air-to-air refuelling for Saudi aircraft.

The move comes as tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia escalate, with the Houthis declaring a blockade on Saudi shipping in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and targeting oil facilities inside Saudi Arabia with drones and missiles.
