G7 Strategic Reserves Release Pushes Oil Prices Lower
Global oil prices have seen another decline, driven by strategic interventions from the G7 countries and increased supply from the Middle East. The benchmark Brent crude oil fell by 0.5%, reaching around $101 per barrel, while the American WTI grade dropped by 1% to $90.
G7 nations have decided to release up to 100 million barrels of oil from their strategic reserves over the next four months, aiming to stabilize and lower prices. Additionally, the group confirmed they would not impose direct restrictions on energy resource exports, which has positively influenced market sentiment.
However, analysts caution that the current downward trend may not last. The main risk to supply stability remains the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, particularly the clashes between the Saudi-led coalition and Yemeni Houthis, which continue to threaten regional infrastructure.
