Gas Malaysia Teams Up with Air Liquide on Low-Carbon Gas Initiatives
Gas Malaysia and Air Liquide Engineering & Construction have partnered to explore low-carbon gas initiatives, including hydrogen solutions, in Malaysia. The collaboration will focus on renewable gas projects, such as bio-liquefied natural gas (Bio-LNG), and carbon dioxide off-take opportunities.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, providing a platform for both parties to assess potential projects that bring together Gas Malaysia's infrastructure advantage with Air Liquide's global expertise in industrial gas technologies. This collaboration aims to address customers' sustainable energy needs and support the transition to a lower-carbon economy.
Gas Malaysia stated that the partnership will evaluate and support Bio-LNG projects, as well as CO2 off-take opportunities involving Gas Malaysia and third-party facilities. The companies will also leverage Air Liquide's technology for low-carbon hydrogen solutions.
