Gas Prices Dip in Nova Scotia Amid Strait of Hormuz Tensions
Gas prices in Nova Scotia have seen a slight decrease after U.S. President Donald Trump's latest comments on the Strait of Hormuz situation.
The Nova Scotia Energy Board exercised its interrupter clause to lower the price of gas from $1.99.01 to $1.93.70 per litre, which is a 5.4-cent decrease.
This comes after a volatile month where Trump rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume talks on its nuclear program.
Iran had offered to reopen the strait in seven days if the U.S. lifted its naval blockade, waived sanctions on Iranian oil sales, and observed a ceasefire that would include Lebanon.
Trump rejected the proposal saying Iran wanted to make a deal because it was 'losing so badly.'
