The national average price of regular gasoline has dropped nearly 7 cents to $4.41 per gallon, following a record-setting September at the pump. This is according to data from Clarksville Online, which tracks gas prices across the country.

The national average was $4.33 in September, marking a new high for that month, and surpassing the previous September record of $3.83 set in 2023. Crude oil prices have dipped back into the $90.00 per barrel range, contributing to the decline in gas prices.

However, despite this decrease, overall gas prices remain at historic highs for this time of year. In fact, gasoline demand decreased last week from 8.84 million barrels per day to 8.68 million, while total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 206 million barrels to 204.4 million.
