Gas Prices Fall to $4.06 Amid Crude Oil Price Drop
The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline fell to $4.06 last week, down three cents from the previous week and significantly lower than this time last year, according to AAA.
Crude oil prices have also decreased, settling at $75.22 a barrel, down 55 cents from the previous week's close, amid optimism that the Strait of Hormuz will resume normal operations.
The decrease in gas prices is typical for this time of year, as many schools and universities begin their fall semesters, reducing the number of road trips taken compared to earlier in the summer.
