Gas Prices Soar in Arkansas Amid Ongoing Crude Oil Volatility
Craighead County in Arkansas is feeling the pinch of rising gas prices, with costs topping $4 per gallon for regular unleaded. According to AAA's latest data, this week's average price in Craighead County stands at $4.09, up 15 cents from last week and a significant jump from the $2.83 drivers were paying at this time last year.
The nationwide average has also seen an increase of 16 cents, reaching $4.43, as crude oil prices hover around $100 per barrel due to international volatility in the Strait of Hormuz.
While Arkansas remains one of the more affordable states for gas prices, electric vehicle owners are facing a different trend, with the state ranking among the top 10 most expensive for public EV charging at an average cost of 44 cents per kilowatt-hour.
