Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed hope that industrial gas supply would rebound from Tuesday evening as the government had resolved an issue at one of the country's two floating LNG terminals.

The PM made this statement during a three-hour meeting with business leaders and media personalities at the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka to discuss the current situation, challenges, and future plans in the power and energy sector.

Tarique said gas supply had been disrupted due to an accident at one of the floating LNG terminals, affecting industries and other sectors. However, he stated that the problem had already been resolved.

The government has set up a third floating LNG terminal to address the supply deficit, with preparations for setting it up on a G2G basis largely completed over the past month.
