Gas Supply Restrictions Threaten Indonesian Industries' Competitiveness

Industries in Indonesia are facing challenges due to gas supply restrictions. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that a reliable gas supply is crucial for maintaining competitiveness.

The Certain Natural Gas Price (HGBT) policy is essential for industries that rely on gas as both a raw material and energy source. These sectors include fertilizers, petrochemicals, ceramics, glass, and steel.

In response to the issue, Agus stated that the government continues to discuss industrial gas problems with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. He mentioned that solutions are being explored that do not entirely depend on the national gas balance conditions.
